How To Assemble Your Cuisinart Blender

Assembling the components of your Cuisinart blender properly is key to its optimal performance and safety. Follow this step-by-step guide to put together your Cuisinart blender the right way before its first use and after cleaning.

Parts of a Cuisinart Blender

Cuisinart blenders contain the following main parts:

  • Base – The base houses the blender motor and controls. This connects to power.
  • Blade Assembly – Consists of stacked sharp blades affixed to a blade holder/cover that fits inside the jar.
  • Jar – The plastic or glass pitcher-like container that holds ingredients for blending.
  • Lid – The removable lid fits tightly over the top of the jar and has a cap to add ingredients.
  • Tamper – A plastic stick for pressing ingredients into the blades while blending.
  • Rubber Gasket – A rubber seal that ensures a tight connection between the jar and base.

Before First Use

Follow these steps before using your new Cuisinart blender for the first time:

  1. Carefully unpack all blender parts and accessories. Remove any tags, stickers or packing materials.
  2. Wash the jar, lid, blade assembly, and tamper thoroughly with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. Do not submerge the base in water at any time.
  3. Wipe down the base with a clean, damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Dry thoroughly.
  4. Check that the electrical outlet and any extension cords are properly grounded and rated for the blender’s wattage.
  5. Place the base on a clean, dry, level surface near the outlet. Do not operate on an unstable or uneven surface.
  6. Make sure the power switch is in the “Off” position before plugging in the cord.
  7. Plug the power cord securely into the outlet. Do not use an outlet that is loose.

Assembling the Blender

To assemble your Cuisinart blender:

  1. Place the jar upside down firmly on the counter or work surface.
  2. Carefully set the blade assembly into the bottom of the jar. The blades should face upwards with the blade housing flush with the bottom of the jar.
  3. Twist the blade assembly clockwise to securely lock it into place in the bottom of the jar. It should be fully tightened.
  4. Flip the jar right side up. Place it onto the base, aligning the handle with the handle space on the base if applicable.

5.Rotate the jar clockwise to lock it into the base. You’ll hear a click when it’s correctly locked in.

  1. Check that the jar is securely attached by trying to lift it up without rotating. It should not detach.
  2. Place the lid on top of the jar aligning the arrow with the unlocked symbol on the jar rim.
  3. Press the lid down and rotate it clockwise until the arrow lines up with the locked symbol.

  3. Put the jar with blades onto the base, rotating clockwise again to secure it.
  4. Add the clean lid on top, rotating to lock it.
  5. Store assembled or leave it ready for your next use!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if the blade assembly is fully tightened?

Rotate the blade assembly clockwise as far as it will go. Test by gently tilting the jar upside down – the blades should not fall out if fully tightened.

What happens if I don’t lock the lid before blending?

Operating without the lid locked can be dangerous. Liquids could splash out. Only run the blender with the marked arrow lined up in the locked position.

Why does my blender jar not fit on the base properly?

Check that you have the correct branded jar for your Cuisinart blender model. Third party or unbranded jars may not align correctly.
